INTERIOR DESIGN COMPETITION


Early Bird Registration April 25-May 15, 2017

Genral Registration May 16 – June 12, 2017
Project Material Due By Friday, June 30, 2017

Registration Fee:
Early Bird $10 per project
General Registration $20 per project


Please review requirements and instructions before submitting. Multiple projects may be entered however every project requires a separate entry. Entry fees are nonrefundable and apply to each individual entry.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Students must be attending a Maryland College or University and be an ASID MD Chapter Student Member.
  • Students must have a parent or legal guardian signature on the entry form unless the entrant is at least 18 years of age.
  • Competition is open to students majoring in Interior Design at a two, three, or four-year College or University. Graduate students are not eligible to compete.
  • Students must include their student ID number, School and ASID member number.
  • All entries must be the work of the entering student. If this entry was a group project, it must be entered as a collaboration/group project and must have full group participation and all group participant names listed.
  • Any project entered in any previous ASID Maryland Student Competition is not eligible

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Students may enter as many categories as desired with a maximum limit of two (2) entries per category.
  • Students must separately register each project submission. There is a registration fee for each project submission entry.
  • Entries must be current year or a previous student year’s projects and completed no earlier than January 1, 2016.

AWARD CATEGORIES

  1. Commercial Design: Any commercial space or part thereof, including corporate, Institutional, educational, retail, etc.
  2. Hospitality Design: Any hospitality space or part thereof, including hotel, restaurant, spa, club, etc.
  3. Healthcare/Life Care: Any space for the care, treatment, promotion of good health, or part thereof.
  4. Residential Design: Any residential space or part thereof, including whole residence, combination of rooms, or single room (i.e. Bedroom, Family Room, Recreational, Media Room), etc.
  5. Residential: Kitchen/ Bath Design: Any kitchen, bath, or utility space.
  6. Historic Design: The project can be any historic space, restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, or a historically influenced designed space (commercial or residential).
  7. Sustainable Design: Any Level LEEDâ, “Green”, or “Sustainable” project following USGBC guidelines to be environmentally responsible by design and/ or utilizes environmentally responsible products or elements and addresses social sustainability “SEED”, in any part or combination thereof in any application. If entering in this category the LEED worksheet must be included with your submittal.
  8. Design Element: Any custom designed element: i.e., furniture, furnishing, window treatment, lighting, architectural element, pattern, textile, rug, wall covering, etc.
  9. Collaborative Group Project: Any project executed by two (2) or more individuals. This may include team projects, show house projects, community service and any collaborative class projects. (commercial or residential). All group projects are judged in the same category. (All participants must fill out a form and all forms must be submitted together; however, the project will be considered as one entry and only one entry fee is required.)
  10. Student Chapter Service Project: Any project planned and executed by a Maryland ASID Student Chapter for the benefit of the community as a volunteer service (non-paid) including purpose, plan, process, execution, and results. All participants must fill out a form and all forms must be submitted together. The entry fee is waived for one submission per Student Chapter. Student Chapters may submit multiple projects with entry fees for each additional service project.

  • ASID Maryland Chapter, Competition Sponsor(s) and Event Organizers will assume no responsibility for electronically damaged entries, or technical difficulties of uploading..
  • By participating, entrants agree to allow Maryland Chapter ASID to display entries and images at Chapter functions and selected public events used at ASID Maryland Chapter discretion.
  • Winning entries and contestant’s identity, including photographs, may be showcased or used for publicity by ASID Maryland Chapter or the Competition Sponsor(s).
  • ASID Maryland Chapter, Competition Sponsor(s) and Event Organizers will assume no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged entries.
